Cambridge English: First ( FCE)

 Many of our 4th and 5th Year students are sitting for this exam in December.

Difficulty level: B2 /Upper Intermediate
The First Certificate in English is the most important of the Cambridge exams.

What is the FCE test like?The test has five sections:

1. Reading - 60 minutes
2. Writing - 2 essays, 80 minutes
3. Use of English - 45 minutes
4. Listening - 40 minutes 
5. Speaking - interview, normally with another candidate, 15 minutes

Score
A, B, C (pass), D, E or U (fail)
FCE A grade pass is accepted for entry to some universities

Cambridge English: Preliminary (PET)

Some of our Second Year students are sitting for this examination in December.

Difficulty level: B1 / low intermediate
The Preliminary English Test is one of the Cambridge ESOL exams.

What is the PET test like?The test has these sections:

1. Reading and Writing are taken together - 90 minutes
2. Listening - 30 minutes
3. Speaking - an interview, 10 minutes

There are two versions of the PET test:

1. PET
2. PET for Schools

Both versions have the same type of questions. The PET for schools test has content of interest to school-age learners.

FIRST YEAR VISITED THE ERRÁZURIZ PALACE

On May 7^th the First Year students visited the Errázuriz Palace and they were able to explore and discover Beautiful Buenos Aires between 1920 and 1930 through architecture, transportation, clothing, art and entertainment. The visit to the Errázuriz Palace showed the students how a very rich family lived in those days.

Having fun with the arts!!!

 En el mes de mayo,  en el área de Inglés, realizaremos visitas relacionadas con la historia y el arte.

 Nuestra primera visita será con 1er  y 3er año al Palacio Errázuriz. Allí nuestros alumnos explorarán nuestra bella Buenos Aires en los años 1920 a 1930 a través de una mirada a su arquitectura , medios de transporte, arte, estilo de vestimenta y entretenimientos.

 2do año, visitará el Museo de Bellas Artes, el cual siempre nos cautiva con increíbles obras de arte, en este caso verán como a través de las épocas, los artistas interpretaron un tema muy popular que era el de las bañistas… The Bathers. Comenzaremos con Diana, de Lefebvre, con su estilo neoclásico, continuaremos con la Ninfa Sorprendida de Manet, que es casi clásica y casi impresionista (obra de transición), seguimos con la bañista de Gauguin, que es neo impresionista y terminamos el recorrido con las Bailarinas de Degas, entre impresionista y neoimpresionista.
