LITERATURE CONTEST

Congratulations to Juan Martín Muñoz and Sofía Laveihle whose pieces of work have been  pre-elected  in the contest organized  by Colegio del Arce. The Awards Ceremony will be held  at Belgrano University on October 29th .

XII Literature Contest “Short Story and Poetry”

As we usually do, we are  participating in the annual contest held by

” Colegio del Arce.”

Some of our 1st, 2^nd and 3^rd year students are presenting their  work in the contest. They have written amazing stories and romantic  poems . we are looking forward to having winners among them!!!!

INTERNATIONAL EXAMINATIONS

Cambridge English: First ( FCE)

 Many of our 4th and 5th Year students are sitting for this exam in December.

Difficulty level: B2 /Upper Intermediate
The First Certificate in English is the most important of the Cambridge exams.

What is the FCE test like?The test has five sections:

1. Reading - 60 minutes
2. Writing - 2 essays, 80 minutes
3. Use of English - 45 minutes
4. Listening - 40 minutes 
5. Speaking - interview, normally with another candidate, 15 minutes

Score
A, B, C (pass), D, E or U (fail)
FCE A grade pass is accepted for entry to some universities

LevelB2 / Upper intermediate

Cambridge English (also known as ESOL) is a department of Cambridge University. Their English exams CPE, CAE, FCE, PET and KET are recognised around the world by thousands of employers, universities and government ministries as proof of ability to use English.

Cambridge English: Preliminary (PET)

Some of our Second Year students are sitting for this examination in December.

Difficulty level: B1 / low intermediate
The Preliminary English Test is one of the Cambridge ESOL exams.

What is the PET test like?The test has these sections:

1. Reading and Writing are taken together - 90 minutes
2. Listening - 30 minutes
3. Speaking - an interview, 10 minutes

There are two versions of the PET test:

1. PET
2. PET for Schools

Both versions have the same type of questions. The PET for schools test has content of interest to school-age learners.

FIRST YEAR VISITED THE ERRÁZURIZ PALACE

On May 7^th the First Year students visited the Errázuriz Palace and they were able to explore and discover Beautiful Buenos Aires between 1920 and 1930 through architecture, transportation, clothing, art and entertainment. The visit to the Errázuriz Palace showed the students how a very rich family lived in those days.
